Brief Professional Biography

Dr. Brent J. Oneal is a Licensed Psychologist in Washington State and Alaska and is a Certified Sex Offender Treatment Provider in Washington State. He earned a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Washington State University and completed his internship/residency and post-doctoral fellowship through the University of Washington School of Medicine, with his post-doctoral fellowship emphasis in forensic clinical psychology. He is currently on Clinical Medical Staff in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Harborview Medical Center and at Child Study and Treatment Center. Dr. Oneal has over 20 years of direct forensic and clinical experience including specialized forensic psychological evaluation. In 2020 he was elected as a Fellow of the Association for the Treatment of Sexual Abusers and he holds professional memberships in a variety of organizations including the American Psychological Association, American Psychology-Law Society, and the Washington Association for the Treatment of Sexual Abusers. He has published and presented work in the areas of forensic evaluation, risk assessment, developmental psychology, scale development, sexual-offense-specific evaluation and treatment, and medical psychology, and has been invited to guest review a number of academic and research works over the years. Dr. Oneal independently practices in Washington State and Alaska, and specializes in a variety of forensic and clinical activities. Dr. Oneal regularly testifies in State and Federal court.
